The game is played like this: They need a wedding planner, and they will pay you $XX extra to give to another vendor because “they don’t take credit cards.” Meanwhile, you think you have enough to cover the costs until their payments clears, but their money bounces and you’re out a lot of dough. This scam works on so many new vendors. Please don’t fall for it.

I love brides, but they are l-a-z-y. They have so much going on in their brains with all those wedding details they simply don’t have time for you to drag out the inquiry process with unnecessary questions. Make it easy for them. Congratulate them and then ask for their phone number. When you get that number, call them. The first wedding planner to make the connection wins the prize (which is a real-life, paying client).

How quickly do you respond to a lead? We live in a world full of instant gratification and so we need things to happen, like, right now when we want them. Brides are no different. They want you to respond immediately to their inquiry. Realize that they are shopping around, and if you wait too long to respond, they have already looked up someone else.
