Today is probably one of my most favorite topics, branding! There are so many facets to branding and it’s so very fun to really narrow in on your niche. Branding is your company as a whole, not just your logo and colors. This is how people view your business and how you present yourself to the world.
Wedding Planner Brand
It is so important to create a clear brand that is authentically you because, especially in the wedding planning world, you are your brand. Brides and grooms are hiring YOU because they love your style and your personality.
What is a Wedding Planner Brand?
This leads me into speaking more about the depths of what a wedding planner brand is. I mentioned that it’s not just colors, pretty fonts, and a killer logo. While these are all aspects of a brand, there is much more! I often start the beginning of brand creation by thinking of what my business’ values are, what its goals are (check out my goals blog!) and who I want my ideal client to be. All of these factors will lend to your brand and how to talk to your audience and the emotions you’re selling to. How do you want your client to feel while interacting with your company? Do you want to be more formal or more conversational? A sophisticated color palette or bright and poppy? What type of vibe do you want to give off with your company name?
Once you nail down all of these details and more, you can start to create your brand! These decisions will influence photos, patterns, the tone you speak in, color palette, and your logo to name a few things. These will help you keep your brand consistent across all media including social media accounts, your website, forms you give your clients, and print material! Along with consistency, a strong, clear brand will help you attract your ideal client. Like I said earlier, they are hiring your personality and your style aka your brand. With a consistent brand they will know exactly what they are getting! Not to mention, a strong, consistent brand helps you look established and professional, even if you’re just starting out!
Branding Can Feel Overwhelming
If branding is new to you, this may seem a bit overwhelming, like “Where do I even start?!” overwhelming. If I hadn’t graduated in Visual Communication Design and advertising, I’d be a bit overwhelmed myself! But not to fear! Valerie’s course, Launch Your Wedding Biz Masterclass, breaks all aspects of branding down into super comprehensive steps starting with how to create your ideal client avatar (one of my favorite steps!) all the way to naming your business and choosing the different aspects of a brand like fonts and colors. I feel like all of us budding planners are creative people at our cores and thrive for this kind of creation. So get pumped about branding and dive in!
My Struggle With Branding My Wedding Biz
While branding is a serious passion of mine, even before wedding planning was on my radar, I tend to get stuck or struggle at certain steps. I hit a bit of a roadblock when it comes to my ideal client and then naming my business. I feel like I need to get it 100% right the first time and my inner perfectionist (we all have one right?) kicks in. It’s important to have your brand as close to perfect as possible, but it can also slightly morphe overtime as you learn about your client over the months and years.
A Simple Solution
I was excited to see how Valerie’s course approached this part of branding since it’s been a bit of a roadblock for me and I was not disappointed! Creating an ideal client avatar was a new take on narrowing in on my client. It gave me an actual person to picture in my head, I can now “talk” to her on my website, blog and in my Insta captions. It is really helping me be consistent in my tone and voice.
Now my second pain point – naming. I struggle to find something unique, that gives off the exact emotion and first impression I want my clients to have when they first interact with my brand. I also want to make sure there are no similar names out there for legal and recognition purposes. The Launch Your Wedding Planner Biz Masterclass breaks down all of the important things to think about when naming your biz like SEO, legal, and brand recognition. Valerie also provides resources that help the naming process as well! I am diving into these, fighting my inner perfectionist and getting closer and closer to choosing a name. Having a process has been super helpful rather than throwing things at a wall and seeing what sticks!
Last Words About My Wedding Planner Brand
I am so excited to be moving forward with my business. I feel once a brand is established it becomes that much more real and I feel like I’m truly accomplishing my goals. I can’t wait for the next course, moving me along even more!
